This series will feature alternating weeks of educational workshops from Mid-State Technical College instructors and Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions with local professionals. Learn QuickBooks one week and pepper an accountant with your specific questions the next. The goal is to give you the training and resources necessary to get your business off and running. Ready. Starting a small business is all about money, but before you can start spending, you have to first understand how to effectively manage a budget, implement cash controls and keep the books. This session will start with the foundations for basic accounting and finance principles to give you the basics you need to get started strong. You'll learn how to keep your business and personal finances separate and to protect your savings. This session will also introduce how to get your seed money through small business loans and crowd funding.
